The Young Musicians Foundation recently awarded 10-year-old Antonio Pontarelli, of Temecula, a full scholarship to the Mary Adams
Debut Orchestra- which becomes a resident of of Pepperdine University at summer’s end. Formerly known as the celebrated Disney Orchestra, the group accepts young virtuosos between 10-15, after selecting them from a noteworthy pool of musicians, during an arduous nationwide audition. Pontarelli, a straight-A student at Hillcrest Academy and Palomar College, will play first violin at upcoming performance venues in Malibu and San Francisco as well as on a televised documentary. In addition to his tasks with MADO, the gifted young artist also serves as an assistant concert master for the
San Diego Youth Symphony Symphonic Orchestra. He is a soloist first violinist with the Californian Youth Philharmonic and has successfully captured first-place honors at the Inland Valley Youth String Competition four years in a row.

Antonio Pontarelli Has Played Violin Since Age Four

At the tender age of six, he appeared in public for the first time with the Southern California Chamber Soloists expertly performing a rendition of Malaguena for solo violin. Since then, he has played across the United States
and in Paris, France. Antonio Pontarelli is considered by many to be a exceptional role model for his peers and adults alike.
